BACKWARD CLASSES & MINORITIES Cell

The Backward Classes and Minorities cell has an Advisory Committee under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Vice-chancellor. The Convener is the Member Secretary of the committee. The meeting is held from time to time to discuss various issues regarding the fast disbursal of Scholarship, Fee reimbursement, Research Fellowship, other financial assistance extended by Government and university to students and Research Scholars. It is necessary to provide them additional programmes to reach out to their good research activities and academic performances. The financial assistance will help them in successful completion of their degree and progressive research works and the University would expect from them a satisfactory progress.

 
Objectives of the Cell

• Backward Classes & Minorities Cell has been established to provide assistance to students.
• Cell is bridge between students and the Government Departments to get and prompt distribution of scholarships, fellowships and other financial assistance.
• The Cell organizes training programme to prepare competitive examinations, workshops, remedial coaching classes and many innovative programs for the welfare of students and Research Scholars.
• Separate Library facility is available for BCM students of Kuvempu University in the main Library. Students will borrow the books as per University library rules and also refer the books in reference section.
• The financial assistance extended by University and Government Departments for Ph.D Students to help them in successful completion of their research works.
