Department of PG Studies and Research in Industrial Chemistry
The department of Post-Graduate Studies & Research in Industrial Chemistry established by Mysore University way back in 1973. Over the years the department of Industrial Chemistry has been harnessing precious human resources for the overall development of society through the pursuit for excellence in the area of chemical sciences. The department apart from its main tasks of involving itself in academics, teaching and research as also periodically interacted and established a mutually beneficial relationship with the nearby industries. In this direction the department has initiated several programs like, taking up Industries sponsored projects involving testing and analysis of raw materials and products, encouraging students to take up projects related to their studies to acquire work experience, inviting executives and technical staff of the Industries as guest faculty. The department has started evening batches in addition to the regular P.G. Diploma Course in Industrial Chemical Quality Control from the year 2006-07 to help the students of other department of our University to pursue it as our add-on course. The classes will be engaged every day between 5-30 pm to 8-30 pm and during holidays.
The classes will be engaged every day between 5-30 pm to 8-30 pm and during holidays. The department has made MOU with Wichita State University, Wichita, USA. The department extending its research facilities and expertise available within the department to near by Industries. In this context the department providing consultancy services in chemical testing to Mysore Paper Mills, Bhadravathi from past 4 years. Under this programme the M.Sc freshers are getting training on stipendiary.
This department has produced more then 50 Ph.D?s and 4 M.Phil degrees. About more than 150 research papers have been published in reputed journals.
